MEET THE TEAM

Our team has extensive experience across the built environment and landscape sectors. We have over 25+ years combined experience at local government and have been involved in a range of projects over this time.

This ensures we are able to deliver on your vision with accuracy and timeliness.

Stephen has over 13 years professional experience having held various roles within local government including Senior Statutory Planner, Senior Strategic Planner, Principal Growth Area Planner and Landscape Architect working towards achieving key outcomes for the community.

This diverse background has exposed him to complex projects including:

  • Overseeing approval, development and design of Council’s landscape projects within the Urban Growth areas including wetlands, streetscapes, local parks and constructed waterways:

  • Processing of major planning permit applications for subdivision and development within Urban Growth areas:

  • Implementation of the Frankston Metropolitan Activity Structure Plan through a planning scheme amendment which introduced various rezonings and design controls for areas peripheral to the city centre.

  • The management and overseeing of the preparation of the Frankston Metropolitan Activity Structure Plan Illustrative Design Guidelines which help guide development adjacent to sensitive coastal and creek environments.

  • The adoption of Building Design Guidelines for Residential Growth Areas within the Frankston city peripheral areas.

 

Stephen has developed a thorough understanding of the diverse issues relating to planning and design within the complex planning system and is committed to feeding this experience into great landscape design outcomes for his clients.

James also has over 13 years professional experience having held various roles within local government including Senior Statutory Planner, Strategic Planner, Team Leader Infrastructure Planning, Coastal Planner and Urban Designer.

This diverse background of work has exposed him to complex projects including:

  • Chairing Council's Design Advisory Panel for large and controversial planning applications.

  • Providing feedback to Council’s Project Delivery & Infrastructure team on their large infrastructure projects (such as the Rosebud Aquatic Centre, Rosebud Streetscape Redevelopment, Hastings Streetscape Renewal).

  • Preparing multiple concept plans that have successfully progressed through to delivery, such as Napier Street Plaza (Rye), O’Toole and Fisherman’s Lane (Hastings) and various parklet/outdoor dining programs across the Peninsula as part of Council’s COVID recovery program.

  • Hosting various public forums for large scale strategic projects and regularly engaging with community members, community groups and chambers of commerce.

  • Preparing long term township plans and strategies that manage the future growth and character of particular areas (Rye Township Plan, Rosebud Structure Plan, Hastings Streetscape Plan).

 

James has a range of capabilities that range from landscape and urban design through to planning and strategy development. This experience in the public and private sector ensures he has a thorough understanding of the issues affecting each project and can navigate the complexities involved, to ensure the client gets the result they desire.
